TIPTON COUNTY, TENN.: Authorities have charged three individuals following a deadly home invasion in Brighton that claimed the life of 22-year-old Corey Webb. The incident occurred late Monday night and has deeply shaken the local community.
According to Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley, deputies were called to a home on John Hill Road near Fayne Road around 11:30 p.m. for reports of a home invasion and possible homicide. Upon arrival, deputies found Webb suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
Remembering Corey Webb
Family members described Corey Webb as a kind and selfless young man who would help anyone in need. According to investigators, Webb was shot in front of a woman and a child, making the crime even more traumatic for those involved.
Detectives later traced the suspects to a home in Memphis, where a search warrant was executed and three people were taken into custody. Those charged include two teens, ages 16 and 17, and 20-year-old Ashton Wayne Wolsefer.
