UNITED STATES: Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of former US President John F Kennedy, has died at the age of 35 after battling an aggressive form of cancer, her family confirmed.
The Kennedy family announced her death in a social media post shared by the John F Kennedy Library Foundation, writing that she would “always be in our hearts.” Schlossberg publicly revealed in November that she had been diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and was given less than a year to live.
A Life of Journalism and Advocacy
In a widely read New Yorker essay titled “A Battle With My Blood”, Schlossberg revealed she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia shortly after giving birth to her second child. She detailed chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, and the emotional toll of facing death as a young mother.
Schlossberg authored the book “Inconspicuous Consumption” and reported for the New York Times on climate issues. She believed climate change was “the biggest story in the world” and hoped her journalism would inspire action.
